Because newspapers are dieing, the New York Times is trying really, really hard in their online coverage, so it's excellent.
I like the Kos better. News, opinion, features, attitude... plus world famous blog, if you're into that. (I'm not!) More inside politics and sociology then news but presents a basically rational appraisal of the state of the nation, and the 'ebb and flow of political fortunes'.

4 OPINION...a roundup of national opinion and poll data from hundreds of sources. Since this is a generated collection, it contains nonsense like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh , et al. But it is an extremly well set up site that collects national political writings and polling data, and tries to gauge national sentiment. I'm not all sold on it yet: the opininating press has a right wing bias that is reflected here, but it's worth including in our coverage because it makes it easy to access hundreds of opinion articles from across the spectrum. Like everything else, read with a discerning mind.
